The Sorital are the powerful mage/clerics of the fabled city of
Xanadu. Their purpose in life is to protect their city and others
from the forces of darkness. To this end, they have many archane
powers at their disposal. Sorital, by their nature, work for the
forces of light and good. As such they are expected to remain in
good alignment and follow a creed like their warrior cousins the
Paladins.
Sorital Creed
-------------
Work only for the forces of good and use your powers against
evil. Be above anger when in peace or battle. Do not let your
temper move your to dishonorable or shameful acts.
Behave at all times in a respectful and courteous manner even
to those that displease you. Treat others kindly. Interact
with those around you in a kind manner always keeping your
responsibilities as a Sorital in mind.
Offer assistance when a player appears to need it. Do not
refuse a request for assistance unless the request is beyond
your skills or when the request is made by a dishonorable
soul. Helping dishonorable people who have wandered to the
path of darkness is not forbidden. However, the first duty
of the Sorital is to protect from darkness.
Sorital Races
-------------
Sorital are only humans, halflings, half elves, dwarves and
gnomes as the halfling residents of Xanadu are wary of many
outsiders. Sorital gain a mid level of 9 hp per constitution.
Sorital Benefits
----------------
Upon reaching level 20, a Sorital can petition their guild master or
a coder for Xanadu asking for the outer room of their private study
in the upper levels of the Sorital tower. Upon reaching level 25, a
Sorital can have the inner, private room added in.
Sorital, like mages, can scribe spells when they reach level 20
and enchant items when they reach level 30. You must be at least
10 levels in skill above the spell you scribe or enchant. The
scribed or enchanted items can only be used by other Sorital.
Equipment of the Sorital
----------------------
Sorital can only wield certain weapons and wear certain armours.
Any other weapons are considered beneath the level of a protector
of good or too clumsy to use. Other armours interfere with the many
spells of the Sorital.

Any crush type weapon:
club, flail, hammer, war hammer, mace, staff, sap, rod
Certain slash type weapons:
dagger, dirk, knife, broad sword, short sword, rapier,
sabre, cutlas, Sword of Sorit
Long range weapons:
lasso, sling, dart
Sorital can wear:
----------------
Any shields, rings, amulets or helms.
Cloaks, boots and gloves that are not made of metal except for
gauntlets which can be worn no matter what they are made of.
Armour that is called robe(s), cloak(s), bracers, platemail or
scalemail.
The favorite sword of the Sorital is their holy weapon, the Sword of
Sorit. More experienced Sorital can summon this fine sword to their
side. Sorital prefer to wear crystal amulets which they can enchant,
the ring of light and guardian platemail, the holy armour of their
Paladins cousins.
Sorital Rings of Influence
--------------------------
Sorital have 9 rings of magical influence. There are also several
unique spells that only Sorital can cast. These rings cover most
magical aspects that the Sorital will need to fight darkness.
Healing
This contains all spells related to healing such as cure
wounds, cure disease and life spells.
Necromancy
Sorital should tread carefully when using this ring. Spells
Sorital are encouraged to use when needed are raise dead,
restore, resurrect and neutralize poison. Other spells should
be used with care following the creed of the Sorital.
Assault
This ring contains the non-elemental based spells related to
combat such as bless, magic missile and bracer strike.
Elemental
This ring contains combat spells related to an element such as
ice. Some of these spells affect all in a room so use caution
when casting. Spells here include call lightning, cone of cold
and earthquake.
Astral
This ring contains spells related to manipulating space and time.
Spells here include lt (light), teleport and wish.
Armament
This ring contains powerful spells to protect the Sorital from
physical attacks. Spells related to weapons, armour, magic shields
and enchantment of weapons/armour can be found here.
Resistance
This ring contains spells to resist or counteract other spells
that may be cast on the Sorital. The spells of this ring are primarily
resist and dispel types such as resist fire and dispel magic.
Nature
Spells in this ring manipulate the forces of nature. Create food,
plant growth and charm monster are just a few of the spells.
Seer
By focusing their powers of light and concentrating, Sorital can gain
insight on monsters, people and objects using the spells of this ring.
Spells include detect spells, locate, identify and feel.
