Volume II, Issue XI *The fresh dirt on the MUD* April 17, 1999
IntroductionMost of the GM's have completed their offices. Those of you that have not finished them yet should finish them as soon as they can. I would like to have a meeting with all of the GM's this thursday, at 8 p.m. PST. We will discuss the role of the GM and other topics related to guilds.

Mudlib ChangesEncumbrance is no longer randomized. It will always show the accurate statistics now. Previously it was randomized based on intelligence, but it seemed to just baffle the players.

The Goblins that live in the holes in the Dankwind Marsh have been sending raiding parties into Harborside. Beware these cretinous creatures.

The non-existant Alien Abductions now will only happen (or not) once for each player.

(Note: these are still being tested and are not rolled out yet)
New inherits have been written for armour and weapons. The biggest upside this for players is that the condition line will use ansi to show what shape your armour or weapon is, making it easier to notice and get repaired. Also the materials that are used to make the items plays a greater role than it had previously. The biggest downside, except for fighters, is that armour and weapons will degrade somewhat more quickly. Not as quickly as they used to, but not as slowly as they do now.

True Stories of the Bug PatrolThe place you go when you are too baked, Bakeland, no longer just keeps cloning monsters. There is an upper limit to how many monsters will be there.

Otis, sitting by the Harborside bay, will not always give a dark opal anymore. I walked by and saw seven of them lying on the ground, so he will only give an opal one in 5 times now.
