Volume I, Issue IX *The fresh dirt on the MUD* December 13, 1998
Introduction What a mess! Our host ISPs move to the new site turned out to be not nearly as smooth as we had hoped. Our Development site still isn't online, and our Player site is back online after 3 weeks. It turns out that some of the network drops in the new building were wired incorrectly. Hopefully we will get the development server online soon.
--UPDATE--
The development server is back online and funtional. The new IP address is posted on the Inner board.

In other mud related news Dugal, the admin of Abhorration mud, has reported that his mud server was hacked to death. Aborration is one of the muds that was working on the 7th level of Hell project. Dugal says he is probably going to throw in the towel and cease working on Abhorration.

Mudlib ChangesThe Meteor Swarm mage and cleric spell has been upgraded to do a bit more damage.

Did You KnowThere is a potion shop in Amfipryon city that stocks potions found nowhere else?

True Stories of the Bug Patrol In an attempt to extort code from Malevolence, one of the admin staff of the Kinslayer mud alerted us to a previously unknown bug. If a player set his description to something like:
@@death():$this_player()$@@\n@@die():$this_player()$@@\n@@death:$this_player()$@@\n then any other player who looked at them would die. The bug has been fixed and the offending parties have been banned.

There was a bug in the bulletin board code that would repeat posts after the message count got above 30. Shwaine squashed it.

Upcoming PK may be turned on in one form or another in the near future. What exact form it will take is yet to be decided, but the general concept is agreed upon.

My next project is to clean up the grammar in Perin's dwarvish mines so they can be opened.
